Steve Johnson

Founder and Partner

Steve Johnson is a Founder, Partner and Member of Crest Rock’s Investment Committee, where he is involved in all aspects of firm oversight, strategic direction, deal origination, investment activity and operational execution. Steve brings tremendous experience to Crest Rock from his lead role in over 20 acquisitions and divestitures over the course of his career and 9 Board positions, including Diogen, Hospedia, Burroughs, OnX Enterprise Solutions, ATC Drivetrain, Vivonet, Changepoint, Lochbridge and Uniface.

Prior to co-founding Crest Rock, Steve spent more than nine years at Marlin Equity Partners where he was a Partner and member of the Investment Committee. Prior thereto, Steve was the COO and CFO of I/O Concepts, a Bellevue WA based developer of infrastructure software. Prior to I/O Concepts, Steve was the CFO of Avure Technologies where he was responsible for financial strategy, acquisitions / divestitures, debt financings, risk management and day-to-day financial operations.

Prior to Avure, Steve was a Vice President with the Operations team at The Gores Group and before that Director of Acquisition Analysis and Integration at First Data Corporation as well as Manager in the Corporate Transaction Services unit of Accenture. He began his career with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as an Associate National Bank Examiner.

Steve holds a B.S. in Economics from Boston College.

Outside of Crest Rock, Steve enjoys spending time with his family, skiing and mountain biking.
